lost distillery companyThis is your chance to own a curious bottle of whisky in the style of an old Islay distillery’s product from many years ago in celebration of the ISLAY FESTIVAL. The bottle is the Lost Classic from The Lost Distillery Company – ENTER NOW!

Scott Watson, Co-Founder of The Lost Distillery Company says of this bottle:

“Our Lossit range has been hugely well-received across the globe

“Lossit was a top whisky producer on Islay in its heyday and a key driving force behind the development of the island’s production of Scotland’s national drink. The Lossit Classic offers a present day expression of the whisky created at the distillery in the 1800’s and perfectly pays homage to Lossit’s long lost heritage. At The Lost Distillery Company, we’re obsessive about craft and uncompromising when it comes to whisky quality.”

Tasting Notes

According to leading whisky expert, Charles Maclean Lossit Classic starts with soft smoke on the nose, then becomes malty with flavours of porridge, pear drops and lemons. Later, it boasts hints of smoked ham and toasted oak. The palate is medium-bodied and a tad spicy. The smoke becomes more prominent, rolling in soft waves over the tongue. Then there is intense maltiness, together with notes of vanilla and ginger, followed by some sawdust and a touch of soap. The finish is long and warming as the smoke slowly disappears on notes of pear.
