Gin Festival Manchester 2018

let’s begin

Returning for it’s sixth time to Manchester The Gin Festival promised a great venue, a great atmosphere and most importantly great gins, and it delivered.

Gin Festival is the brainchild of husband and wife Jym and Marie. Together they have formed an events company that captures the best qualities of Gin. They are both great lovers of Gin and have a deep passion for the stuff. This led them to discover more about it and all the different Gin brands across the world. But they weren’t content to simply keep all these brilliant Gins to themselves. Instead, they sought to share them with the wider world. With that, GinFestival.com was born, and their Gin focussed events began popping up all over the UK.

On arrival at the stunning Victoria Baths venue you’re presented with your own Copa glass and your bible (brochure for your session). Once you’ve topped up your clever wristband which acts as your currency for the session, either online or at one of the top up stations it’s time to explore. With a sampling room, 5 bars, live bands and street food there’s all you need for to cement your love for gin.

Be sure to take some time at the beginning of your time at the festival to go through the brochure and decide what you’d like to try. Although staff at each bar were very helpful at explaining the gins each bar isn’t organised by taste/genre so did feel a little overwhelming at the start.

Those looking to stick to what they know in the gin world may be disappointed as the amount of recognisable brands was pretty small. However if looking to try small craft distilleries this is the
festival for you.

The clever cashless system made for efficient purchase and although at times there were queues they were well managed and we just headed to a different bar whilst they cleared.

An enjoyable afternoon with a lively atmophere, The Gin Festival returns for the Easter Weekend – tickets still available at GinFestival.com.
