PRESS RELEASE - Glenmorangie and Ardbeg expressions praised at prestigious whisky awards

The Glenmorangie Company triumphed in the recent whisky awards season, winning two awards at this year’s World Whiskies Awards in London and four double gold medals at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Glenmorangie Original, the 10 year old single malt Glenmorangie flagship expression, emerged as a double gold medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, judged by a panel of experts.

Other Glenmorangie and Ardbeg expressions were also recognised at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition including Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, Glenmorangie 25 Years Old and Ardbeg Corryvreckan – all double gold medal winners in their categories.

The World Whiskies Awards, held in March, crowned Glenmorangie Extremely Rare 18 Years Old as the Best Highland Single Malt, while Ardbeg Kildalton was awarded the Best Islay Single Malt.

Dr Bill Lumsden, Head of Distilling and Whisky Creation at The Glenmorangie Company, said of the awards: “This recognition by these prestigious awards is a testament to our commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.

“Being honoured in these highly contested categories reflects the distinctive taste profiles of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg – influenced by their respective homes and crafted to the highest standards.”

The illustrious World Whiskies Awards search for the very best whiskies from a global shortlist. The competition from leading industry publication, Whisky Magazine, sees entries go through three rounds of blind tastings in its search for the category winners.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the largest, most influential international spirits competition in America.
