Douglas Laing unveils Winter Warming Single Cask Collection

let’s begin

Douglas Laing & Co, the leading independent Scotch Whisky specialist, today reveals its winter line-up of Exceptional Single Cask releases.

22 casks were specially selected from across Speyside, Islay and The Highlands having been aged from 7 to 33 Years Old.

This Winter release of single cask bottlings includes some heavily Sherry-matured Malts which are sure to be a warming and welcome addition on the coldest of winter nights.

Within Old Particular, some ‘Sherry bombs’ include a Blair Athol 21 Years Old full of spiced, dark fruits with home-baking, as well as a Glenrothes 12 Years Old with a distinctly tobacco and honeycomb character. A Craigellachie 21 Years Old completes the Old Particular Sherry trio, bursting with macerated fruits, warming spices and treacle.

The latest releases also feature some warming island beauties including an Old Particular Tobermory 21 Years Old, packed with salted toffee, cut lemons and subtle smoke, an Old Particular Bowmore 17 Years Old which is spicy and sweet with smoke, caramelised oranges and peated malt and a Bruichladdich 25 Years Old in Xtra Old Particular which displays a fruity, vanilla-rich and a citrus candy character.

Within Provenance, the Winter releases include a honey and barley-rich Glengoyne 9 Years Old, a fresh and fruity Benrinnes 8 Years Old and a Tamdhu 12 Years Old with orange peel and vanilla cream.

“With this most recent release for the winter months, we believe we have selected some very special Single Casks that offer a unique insight into Scotland’s distilleries whilst bringing a warming glow to the chilliest of nights” said Fred Laing, Owner and Managing Director at Douglas Laing.

In-line with Douglas Laing’s philosophy, all 22 releases have been bottled “the way the distiller intended” – without colouring, at a high strength and non-chill-filtered to preserve the robust and unique character of the Whisky.

Each Single Cask release is available at specialist retailers globally from November 2016, and the full list of Douglas Laing’s Q4 bottlings can be found below:
